Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Technique)
First Performed by: Uzumaki Naruto
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 1
Being a forbidden and advanced NinJutsu, few people know this technique perfectly. It is listed in the Scroll of Seals, but still some advanced ninjas (such as Kakashi) know this technique. It is similar to the Bunshin no Jutsu; the main function is to create clones. However, Kage Bunshin no Jutsu doesn't create fake clones; the clones created by this fearsome attack are real, and can deal physical damage.
This technique is hard to master, because the chakra of the user needs to be equally distributed and used with effectiveness. Also, the strength of the user is equally divided among the clones, which makes it hard for someone to distinguish the original one, unless he possesses the Sharingan. Shadow clones disappear once they are hit though, but they can be made in large numbers so they last longer. A weak ninja can create many clones but weak ones; a strong one and one that practices this Jutsu a lot can create large quantities of strong clones.
First performed by Uzumaki Naruto in chapter one, this is a Jounin level skill learned from the First Hokage's Scroll of Seals. Other ninjas who can use this technique include Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Itachi, Orochimaru, and Sandaime.
Kage Konoha Buyou (Shadow Leaf Dance)
First Performed by: Rock Lee
Type of Technique: TaiJutsu
Chapter: 37
Yet another attack which on its own does pretty much nothing, yet can inflict great damage with other Jutsus. Although it does no damage to the opponent, it is still considered a TaiJutsu, because it uses no Chakra and doesn't require hand seals to be performed. This Jutsu is an aerial attack, meaning the enemy has to be in the air for it to fully function. Once in the air, the shinobi positions himself just below the opponent and slightly diagonally while in the air. Thus, the ninja becomes the opponent's shadow, leaving the opponent unable to escape. Also, the two ninjas kind of "hover" in the air, giving the attacker a chance to strike.
Usually, this Jutsu is done after Leaf spinnining wind, which sends the opponent sky high, and it will usually be followed by another TaiJutsu such as Omote Renge, or Shishi Rendan. It can also be followed by NinJutsu, but it is less possible because most NinJutsus are ranged, and in this case attacker and defender are very close to each other, so they would both get damaged. The only downside to this Jutsu is that the enemy isn't completely motionless, so he/she can block any incoming attacks; unless, of course, the attacker is skillful enough to confuse the opponent, or strong enough to create such a powerful blow that cannot be blocked.
First performed by Rock Lee in chapter thirty-seven. One of many techniques taught to him by Gai-sensei. Copied by Uchiha Sasuke and Hatake Kakashi.
Kage Kubishibari no Jutsu (Shadow Neckbind)
First Performed by: Nara Shikato
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 137
A Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Copy Technique). The ninja uses Kagemane no Jutsu to trap their enemy and force them to perform the same movements. At this point, all of the rules of the Kagemane still apply. However, after the technique is secured, the attacking ninja can manipulate the shadows into becoming hands, which wrap around the neck of the enemy, strangling them, or even just breaking their neck. This technique is exclusive to the Nara clan.
Kage Shuriken no Jutsu (Shadow Shuriken no Jutsu)
First Performed by: Uchiha Sasuke
Type of Technique: TaiJutsu
Chapter: 14
This is a really useful technique for ninjas who fight by tricking opponents. Shadow Shuriken, also known as Evil wind Shuriken Shadow Windmill, uses a Fuma Shuriken (a big, aerodynamically designed shuriken with curved blades). The user actually throws 2 shurikens at the opponent; however, one is hidden just beneath the first one, creating a perfect shadow.
The opponent believes that only one shuriken is thrown, so after dodging it, the second shuriken appears from the blind spot, surprising the opponent, and possibly damaging him/her. Note that Kage Shuriken is a TaiJutsu, because it uses just stamina to throw the two shurikens. First performed by Uchiha Sasuke in chapter fourteen, with an assist from Uzumaki Naruto.
Kagemane no Jutsu (Shadow Copy Technique)
First Performed by: Nara Shikamaru
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 55
Known in the old days as the Kageshibari no Jutsu (Shadow Freeze Technique), this is a Ninjutsu technique that allows the user to extend their shadow and connect with another person's, or many people's shadows. Once the connection is made, the ninja has around five minutes of control of their opponent's body. Every move they make, their opponent will reflect, and vice-versa. Unlike the Shintenshin no Jutsu (Mind Body Switch Technique), this jutsu does not harm the ninja using it when their opponent is harmed, unless they're harmed by an outside force and the movement made could hurt the user, such as an arm breaking or a quick neck jerk.
Also, this technique allows the ninja to manipulate their shadow in many ways, such as size and shape, allowing them to take control of more than one person, or follow the shadow of an object to find their target. In addition, this technique uses already existing shadows to extend the length of the ninja's shadow. The combined total area of any shadows they use in conjunction with their own will allow them to extend their shadow to any length, so long as it always equals the total area of the shadows they are using.
First performed by Nara Shikamaru in chapter fifty-five. His father, Nara Shikato, uses it in chapter one hundred and thirty-seven. This technique is exclusive to the Nara Clan.
Kakuro (Black Fire)
First Performed by: Kisame or Uchiha Itachi
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 148
A Ninjutsu technique where the user creates a powerful black flame capable of burning through, at least, a thick wall of flesh. The fire is mysterious in nature, of course, because of its color, so it is not known if this is one of the variety of Katon (fire type), or something of a more powerful and dark nature.
Kamaitachi (Slashing Wind)
First Performed by: Temari
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 73
A powerful Ninjutsu following the revelation of the San no Hoshi (Third Star). The ninja swings their large fan, creating a monstrous gust of wind, which is then imbedded with chakra to direct it at their opponent and increase its speed. They are caught within the swirling whirlwind of chakra, which is fast and powerful enough to lacerate their skin and cause much physical damage.
First performed by Temari in episode forty-three of the anime, presumably chapter seventy-three of the manga during her fight with Tenten. It is first truly seen in chapter one hundred and seven.
Kanashibari no Jutsu (Body Freeze Technique)
First Performed by: Orochimaru
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 49
A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja stares down their opponent, causing them to become completely frozen in their tracks. Perfect for escaping a dire situation, or for stalling a target in an assassination. First performed by Orochimaru in chapter forty-nine. Anko and various Anbu can use this technique. One of Jiraiya's frogs used this technique in chapter one hundred and twenty-four.
Karuto no Tayori (Information Cards)
First Performed by: Yakushi Kabuto
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 39
A one-of-a-kind Ninjutsu technique where the ninja takes simple, black deck cards and embeds information on them with chakra. The information could be about anything from shinobi countries to shinobi themselves. Once the information is embedded in the card, it turns blank, only to become visible again when the ninja reveals it with their chakra.
Kasui Nikudan Sensha (Spiked Meat Tank)
First Performed by: Akimichi Chouji
Type of Technique: TaiJutsu
Chapter: 189
A Taijutsu technique incorporating the Baika no Jutsu (Multi-size no Jutsu) and a line of kunai wrapped around the ninja's body. Once the ninja's body has become massive, they tuck their arms, legs, and head into their body and become a lumbering ball of spiked meat, capable of tearing an opponent apart. In this state, they can control their speed, direction, and jump while keeping the momentum of a boulder-sized orb of flesh that can tear through practically any obstacle. It takes some skill to use this as the ninja becomes disoriented afterwards. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi clan.
Katateoichi Baika no Jutsu (Partial Multi-size Technique)
First Performed by: Akimichi Chouji
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 189
A Ninjutsu technique which is a variation of the Baika no Jutsu (Multi-size Technique). With this technique, the ninja increases the size of only one part of their body, such as their arm of leg, and then attacks their opponent with just that part, crushing them. This technique is exclusive to the Akimichi clan.
Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Flame Type: Powerful Fireball Technique)
First Performed by: Uchiha Sasuke
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 7
This Ninjutsu is a very powerful technique, and most Genins are not capable of performing it due to the large amount of chakra it uses. The user must first gather a large amount of chakra in his hand and mouth; this attack is pretty similar to a flamethrower. The mouth shoots out fire and one hand is placed just out of the lips to control it into one large fireball.
Just like any other elemental technique, animal hand seals are needed to perform it. This one here uses the tiger and horse seals. The only big drawback this attack has is that it slows down the caster, since he must stay still while he "spits" fire. This means an attack opening from another attacker.
Katon: Housenka no Jutsu (Flame Type: Mythical Fire Flower Technique)
First Performed by: Uchiha Sasuke
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 46
Another technique which originally belongs to the Uchiha clan, Katon Housenka is a very powerful and flexible technique. Instead of following the way of the other fire techniques, Housenka is unique by creating many small, yet powerful fireballs from the users mouth, and shooting them at the opponent. This means that this NinJutsu can hit many opponents in one strike; however, it also means that it can be dodged easier since the balls are smaller than a stream of fire.
Here is how it works: The ninja first gathers chakra into his mouth while performing many swift and diverse hand seals. Once all the needed chakra is gathered, the shinobi places two fingers in an elliptical position in front of his mouth, and starts shooting out the fireballs. These projectiles can be either shot fast at the same direction, slowly in a rotating formation; basically, the ninja controls everything, from the strength of the fireballs to how fast he/she shoots them. Although it requires a lot of concentration and a lot of chakra, this Jutsu is one among the most powerful ones in the series.
Katon: Karyuu Endan (Flame Type: Fire Dragon Blast)
First Performed by: Sandaime
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 120
A Katon (flame type) Ninjutsu technique where the ninja inhales deeply, drawing in a full chest of air. They then exhale, producing a very wide stream of flames that approach their target as a huge wall.
Katon: Ryuuka no Jutsu (Flame Type: Dragon Fire Technique)
First Performed by: Uchiha Sasuke
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 49
Yet another powerful fire elemental NinJutsu, which also happened to be very common in members of the elite Uchiha Clan. This is believed to be the second strongest of the fire NinJutsus, just below its "cousin", Fire Dragon Flame no Jutsu. However, despite its diffuclty level, young Genin Sasuke can successfully perform it during his fight with Orochimaru in the Forest of Death. This NinJutsu requires a lot of Chakra concentration , and Sasuke is the only Gennin capable of doing it. A few diverse hand seals are done, and after gathering all the chakra in his mouth, the ninja will create so much flame that a red-hot fire will light up around him.
All that chakra is then converted into fire inside the ninja's mouth, and it is all ejected at once, creating an extremely long blaze of fire, going directly to the opponent. This technique is agile, fast, and strong, and almost always the victim will die or suffer severe burns on his entire body. Its drawbacks; none, except the fact that it uses up a whole lot of chakra. Most likely, though, any ninja trying to perform it knows his limits, so it isn't really a drawback. Also. this technique is most likely to be used after the enemy has been immobilized, because such amounts of Chakra are excerted, the user cannot simply afford to waste it all by missing. It has to be a sure direct hit.
Katsuyu Bunshin no Jutsu (Slug Oil Clone Technique)
First Performed by: Katsuyu
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 170
A Ninjutsu technique unique to Katsuyu, the king of the slug summoning. Katsuyu splits itself into one or many smaller versions of itself, to either carry away a downed ally, avoid a devastating hit, or simply scatter. Each clone acts as a smaller version of the true Katsuyu and can return to him to reform his full body.
Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Switch Technique)
First Performed by: Hatake Kakashi
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 5
The Body Substitute skill is a widely used and very famous skill among shinobis. Put simply, the user uses speed to his/her advantage, and grabs an item from the environment and places it on his/her current position while moving out of the way. This is clearly an evasion technique used to dodge attacks; however it can be linked with other attacks to create massive damage. For example, a simple combination here: The attacked ninja can use Kawarimi no Jutsu to evade, say, an incoming shuriken, and without waiting quickly move behind the opponent and attack with a kunai.
Advanced Bloodline shinobi's also gain further advantage with this Jutsu, because they simply don't have to use Chakra to perform it. Sharingan users also have an advantage by reading the opponents move easier. This evasion skill can be used with so many other attacks, it's combinations are limitless. Also note that this is a Ninjutsu, since the user uses Chakra to move at a faster rate.
Kazaguruma no Sharingan: Sanjuuken (Sharingan Windmill: Triple Blade)
First Performed by: Uchiha Sasuke
Type of Technique: TaiJutsu
Chapter: 49
A Taijutsu technique utilizing the Sharingan's ability to see through the opponent's jutsu. This attack requires three blades, at least, to be thrown at the opponent from both of the ninja's hands, and the ninja's mouth. Strings attached to the blades allow for them to be further manipulated after the initial attack. Only member of the Uchiha Clan, ninjas with the Sharingan, can use this technique.
Kekkai Konchuu Bunshin no Jutsu (Destruction Bug Clone Technique)
First Performed by: Aburame Shino
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 126
A Ninjutsu technique that requires the use of the destruction bugs, which are the parasites of the Aburame Clan, so this technique belongs solely to them. By commanding the bugs, the ninja demands that they assume the form of the ninja's body, changing their color to match the ninja's exact appearance. If this clone is attacked, the bugs scatter, ending the technique, but taking no real damage themselves. This technique is exclusive to the Aburame clan.
Kenkaze (Blade of Wind)
First Performed by: Baki
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 92
A Ninjutsu technique where the ninja creates a whirlwind blade around their opponent with their chakra. It slices through them easily, as it is said that "nothing can stop a blade of wind."
Kirigakure no Jutsu (Hidden Mist Technique)
First Performed by: Momochi Zabuza
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 12
A Ninjutsu technique that covers the area surrounding the ninja using it completely in mist. Perfect for silent killing, since there's practically no visibility within the area of this jutsu.
Kishibari no Jutsu (Tree Bind Technique)
First Performed by: Yuuhi Kurenai
Type of Technique: GenJutsu
Chapter: 141
A Genjutsu technique where the ninja appears to vanish before their opponent's eyes, and then induces the idea that they have been caught and bound from behind by a large tree, which the ninja then emerges from for a swift kill. First performed by Yuuhi Kurenai in chapter one hundred and forty-one. It is immediately countered and copied by Uchiha Itachi.
Kokuangyo no Jutsu (Bringer of Darkness Technique)
First Performed by: Shodaime
Type of Technique: GenJutsu
Chapter: 122
A Genjutsu technique that effectively blinds the enemy. Total darkness engulfs them, and they can see nothing but their own body. The ninja can freely attack their enemy in this state with no tremendous worry of a counter-attack, unless the enemy is extremely talented. If the ninja is caught while still using this technique, it is immediately dispelled.
Kongou Nyoi (Diamond Staff)
First Performed by: Enma
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 120
A Ninjutsu technique, which is a variation of the Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) where the ninja turns them self into a large staff. This staff, the mythical Nyoibo from the Saiyuki, is as hard as a diamond and can extend to whatever length the ninja wishes. Although it appears as a large, thick staff, it can slice through solid objects as easily as any blade. Also, in this form, the ninja can still see and hear everything that is going on as it can transform certain areas of the staff to resume the appearance of parts of their body.
Konoha Gouriki Senpuu (Leaf Herculean Whirlwind)
First Performed by: Maito Gai
Type of Technique: TaiJutsu
Chapter: 143
A Taijutsu technique where the user spins with all of their strength and delivers a powerful spinning heel kick, blasting their opponent back.
Konoha Reppuu (Leaf Violent Wind)
First Performed by: Rock Lee
Type of Technique: TaiJutsu
Chapter: 37
This is one of the basic TaiJutsu that Rock Lee knows. It is a very simple, yet effective technique, which can be used for anybody who comes charging with a direct attack. As with every other TaiJutsu, this technique requires no hand seals or chakra to be raised, so the ninja can perform it at once. Using his leg, the shinobi swipes the attacker's feet off the ground by moving his dominant leg across the opponent's feet, tripping him.
This movement creates somewhat of a wind, hence the name violent wind. This "wind" also sends the opponent careening away from the enemy in an akward position, and probably smashing into another object such as a tree. However, this isn't a Jutsu that can be used alone. It is a pretty obvious technique, which is where its only downside appears; it can be dodged easily, unless the enemy is careless or open for an attack. That means that first, the ninja has to either dodge the incoming attack and then perform it, or catch the enemy by surprise.
First performed by Rock Lee in chapter thirty-seven. One of many techniques taught to him by Gai-sensei. Copied by Uchiha Sasuke and Hatake Kakashi.
Konohagakure Furui Taijutsu Suukoujutsu: Itami no Sennen
(Hidden Leaf Ancient Taijutsu Supreme Technique: 1,000 Years of Pain)
First Performed by: Hatake Kakashi
Type of Technique: TaiJutsu
Chapter: 5
An end-all Taijutsu maneuver involving just the first two fingers of each hand extended together and then driven into the rectum of the ninja's opponent. Surprising and painful, this technique not only inflicts damage, but also thoroughly humiliates the ninja's opponent. First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter five, Uzumaki Naruto later adopts it. Anyone with fingers and no morals can use this technique.
Kontserun Henge no Jutsu (Combined Transformation Technique)
First Performed by: Sakon, Tayuya, Kidoumaru, and Jiroubou
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 115
A Ninjutsu technique where two or more people can use the average Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique) together, making two people to appear as one person, possibly by riding "piggyback." The technique is broken when one of the ninjas breaks their connection.
First performed by Sakon, Tayuya, Kidoumaru, and Jiroubou in chapter one hundred and fifteen. Later, in chapter one hundred and thirty-five, it is used by Naruto, Gamabunta, and Gamakichi.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)
First Performed by: Hatake Kakashi
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 29
Having signed a contract in blood, any ninja with this Ninjutsu technique can summon a beast, or beasts, from another plane of existence to use in battle. They must use their own blood as a "sacrifice" to summon them, after performing the hand seals corresponding with their animal and marking their point of summoning on the ground with both hands. Animals range from the famous Japanese Triad of the Toad, Snake, and Snail/Slug, to dogs, spiders, turtles, monkeys, and probably many more.
Also, each summoning race may have their own "king" to summon. For instance, the toads have Gamabunta, the snakes have Manda, and the slugs have Katsuyu. There is also a possibility that some beings are unique to summon. For instance, Sandaime summons Enma the Monkey King, and then the God of Death itself, while Orochimaru has succeeded in summoning the dead.
There are many variations to the Kuchiyose, some of which include the substitution of a life as a blood sacrifice, or even no sacrifice or hand seals at all. Not all things summoned are animals. People and items can be summoned. For instance, Sakon and Ukon's Rashoumon. Also, beings and items that exist in the ninja's world can be summoned through the use of a scroll. Naruto and Sakura summon Iruka through the Heaven and Earth scrolls during the second test of the Chuunin Exam. And Sakon summons a barrel for the barrier jutsu used to upgrade Sasuke's seal. So, it is very likely that we have yet to see the full range of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu.
First performed by Hatake Kakashi in chapter twenty-nine. The Sannin (Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade) can all summon, as can Sandaime and Yondaime, Uzumaki Naruto, Maito Gai, Mitarashi Anko, Yakushi Kabuto, Kidoumaru, Tayuya, Sakon and Ukon, and any other ninja who has signed a contract in blood with any summoning race.
Kuchiyose no Jutsu: Edo Tensei (Summoning Technique: Impure World Resurrection)
First Performed by: Orochimaru
Type of Technique: NinJutsu
Chapter: 117
A forbidden Ninjutsu technique (Kinjutsu), which is a variation of the Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique). Unlike the Kuchiyose, no contract is required with this technique, because instead of summoning a living being into our world, this jutsu summons the dead. To summon the dead, instead of the user signing a contract and sacrificing their blood, they must prepare a living person as a sacrifice, whose body will become the vessel of the summoned deceased's soul. The living sacrifice then has the dust and ashes of the deceased scattered around them. After that, the sacrifice's body will take on the physical and mental characteristics of the summoned, meaning that they will appear as they did up until the moment of their death, and will remember everything from their past, including any techniques that they possessed in life. All of this is prepared long before the technique's use in battle.
When the summoner is finally ready to use this technique in combat, the prepared body is summoned within a wooden coffin that rises up from the ground. Fully animated, the dead body frees itself. At this point, though, it is nothing more than a walking corpse. It is then that the summoner implants a fuda, an amulet designed to bring the summoned's vitality back, and also to degenerate them to nothing more than a slave of the summoner's will. This fuda is commonly seen as a shuriken with a seal tied to its end, which is then driven deep into the skull of the summoned being. Along with vitality and blood-thirst, the fuda may play a part in the ability of the summoned's body to regenerate quickly. After all of this, the summoned being is as powerful as they were before their death, and is battle-ready. They remain in this world until they are claimed by death once again, at which point they crumble to dust, returning to the physical forms of the sacrificed.
